Seafood Gumbo

I’ve chaired a gumbo contest fundraiser for the last 6 years. Because I’m an organizer for the event, I rarely get to make gumbo myself. Our event committee meets tomorrow to debrief the event, and we’ll enjoy brunch together as a reward for our efforts. We’ll start with the gumbo I’ve made today.

UL: Shrimp stock. UR: Mise en place. LL: Roux at beginning. LR : Roux at the end.

 

UL: Combing roux, vegetables and spices. UR: Letting it simmer. LL: Chopped and frozen okra is so convenient. LR: All in the pot.
