The University of Tennessee Health Science Center hosts food trucks in front of the 910-920-930 Madison Avenue buildings in the Medical Center of Memphis on the first Friday of every month. I finally put this monthly event on my calendar so that I would not forget. On April Fool’s Day, I counted 8 different food trucks (none of which had I tried) offering fairly routine items on their menus. I struggled to find distinctive menu items which stood apart from the other trucks.

After reviewing several menus, I choose A Square Meal on Wheels for lunch. A decent and steadily moving line of customers enticed me to their truck. I took it as a good sign. I ordered the All American Char-Grilled Burger with Fries with cheese and everything on it.

The juicy burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and sliced pickle was ready in 5 minutes. The crispy fries, well seasoned with salt and herbs, really didn’t need ketchup. I would order Square Meal’s cheeseburger and fries again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now that First Friday Food Truck day in the Medical Center is set for repeat on my calendar, I look forward to sampling new offerings of other food trucks. Stay tuned or join me next month.
